Our terms and conditions are here to make sure that you, our customer, are supported in making purchasing choices or interacting with our website and social media channels. ‘Propagation Place’ refers to St Werburghs City Farm trading as Propagation Place. Making a purchase

Purchasing your plants is so simple, just click on the items you wish to buy and add them to the cart.  Go to checkout page and follow the instructions on the screen.

You do not need a Paypal account to make a purchase; we take credit and debit card payments too. Payments are processed through a secure and encrypted payment gateway so your credit card details remain safe. We do not store credit card details nor do we share financial details with any 3rd parties. Our website has a Secure Socket Layer that protects your information when being transmitted to Paypal. We don’t personally handle any of your data and no individual will ever see your sensitive payment information.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the British weather and growing seasons, we cannot guarantee that our delivery will always be in your specific window. We will notify you via email if there is a change in expected delivery date.

Postage and Packing

Our pledge to you as the customer is to deliver the best quality plants to you in excellent condition, ready to get your garden growing as soon as possible. Postage prices are listed with each product

Our aim is to get the best possible quality vegetable, salad, fruit and herb plants to you in the best possible condition. This requires good functional and ecological packaging along with a speedy means of delivery. We charge a flat shipping fee of £5.99 per shipping season to all UK locations. For example if you order ‘Spring’ items only, you will be charged £5.99, if you order a mixture of ‘Spring’ and ‘Summer’ items you will be charged £11.98 etc. Local pickup from BS29YJ is free. We do not ship outside of the UK.

General terms and conditions

Propagation Place reserves the right to replace any variety with a suitable alternative should the need arise. If a suitable alternative is unavailable you may be issued a gift voucher (rounded up to the nearest £5) that can be redeemed online or at our physical site. Gift vouchers will be valid for plants only. Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

Propagation Place reserves the right to amend product information and prices at any time without any prior notice.

Your contract of supply will be with St Werburghs City Farm trading as Propagation Place. We are a registered charity (number 297091) and a company limited by guarantee (2114442). Our registered address is Watercress Rd, St Werburghs, Bristol, BS2 9YJ.

Receiving your order

We send your plants when they are ready to be planted into the garden; this is often at a later date than when you place your order. Although we give guidelines on when they will arrive, we reserve the right to deliver them outside of this window, and when they are at the optimum planting quality.

Your plant delivery

Although we endeavour to ship your order together in one box, it sometimes makes more sense to send two separate orders so don’t worry if you do not receive everything on the same day.

On arrival, the sooner your plants are in the ground, the better! Open the packages as soon as you receive them and make sure they are getting plenty of water and light until you plant them. We advise preparing the soil or containers in advance of the arrival time so that your plants have the best chance of thriving.

We want you to have the best experience possible when you order from us and that’s why we hold ourselves to high standards of customer care and quality. Of course nobody is perfect and that includes us from time to time. Our team are dedicated to solving any issues you encounter with speed and care, ensuring that you are completely happy with our service wherever possible.

Our guarantee to you

We promise to supply products in prime condition, however sometimes we are subject to human error or factors outside our control. You must inform us by email or in person within 24 hours if your plants are not delivered in satisfactory condition. Due to the perishable nature of our products we cannot accept liability for unsatisfactory goods if your first point of contact is outside of the 24 hour window except in exceptional circumstances. In the case of unsatisfactory goods, we will endeavour to send a replacement promptly to ensure you can still plant them in the correct growing season. If we have no replacement products available we will send a gift voucher rounded up to the nearest £5 as an alternative. In exceptional circumstances we will issue a full refund if no suitable alternative as deemed by us is available as a replacement. Due to the unpredictable nature of gardening and plants, we cannot accept responsibility for the life of your plants once they have been planted unless there is sufficient evidence that we supplied a faulty product that was not immediately obvious upon receipt. Our liability is restricted to the value of the goods ordered. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Our shared pledge

Our promise is to supply you with healthy vegetable plants in excellent condition ready to plant into your garden immediately. All you need to do is make sure they are planted according to our simple instructions that come in the box; you can also find them on our website. If you identify a fault with your plants then please let us know as soon as possible and before they go into the ground and we will do our best to rectify the situation to our best ability. Due to the varied factors involved with growing plants, we regretfully cannot take responsibility for the continued health of your plants after they have been planted or after 24 hours of receipt of delivery. We deliver you our best plants and then they rely on your loving care and attention to thrive.

Cancellations and returns policy

Refunds will only be accepted before any part of your order is dispatched. If your order has items from different growing seasons and we have already dispatched one delivery, we reserve the right to refund the remainder of your order with a gift voucher for equal or greater value of the original purchase price of the remaining order. You may not cancel only part of the remaining order.Our plant products cannot be returned due to their nature. In the event of goods that arrive in unsatisfactory condition, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt of goods to allow us the best opportunity of resolving the issue. Regrettably we cannot accept such queries after this period due to the nature of the products. All purchases from Propagation Place are governed by English Law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Competitions and prize draws

By entering a competition on our website or any marketing channel including social media, you accept all of our terms and conditions.

All entries must be submitted by the closing date displayed on the competition.

Propagation Places’ decision is final.

There will be no cash alternative to the offered prizes and we reserve the right to change or substitute prizes for a substitute that we deem to be of equal value as the original prize offered.

Entrants must be over 18 years of age and resident in the UK.

Propagation Place reserve the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the terms and conditions.

None of our employees or volunteers nor any of their immediate family members (spouses/partners, children, siblings or parents) nor any member of their household may enter the prize draw.

We reserve the right to amend any competition, these competition rules, terms and conditions and any individual competition rules without prior notice. These amendments take effect as soon as they are posted on our website or relevant social media channel. You may view any changes on our website or request a written copy by contacting us at our postal address which is held in our main terms and conditions or the contact page of our website.

Prize winners will be notified by email through a message on the social media platform on which the competition is run for example Facebook or Instagram using the details as transmitted on entry and within 28 days of the closing date of the competition unless the individual competition rules state differently.

Offers and discounts

Propagation Place discounts and offers are valid only between the dates advertised and we cannot offer the discount outside of these dates.

In order to qualify for the discount you must enter the relevant offer or discount code at the time of ordering. Offers cannot be processed after your order has already been placed so please check carefully that your code has been added correctly before proceeding to payment. Customers are limited to one discount per order.
